4th and 5th Grade Classes

4th and 5th grade classes begin music with drawing for a "stage manager" (popsicle sticks). The stage manager then asks the question of the day from the white board. Whoever answers correctly becomes the "stage crew" helper for the day.

We begin with an introduction of the skill (element of music) we are doing for the day.

Hands-on playing, singing, moving are then added.

If time allows, the last 10-15 minutes are used to play a game in class.

Last 5 minutes is "Tickets out the Door" (Miller $). I ask various questions about what was covered in class. Stage crew and stage manager take turns calling on various students for each answer. If correct, students earn a Miller $1.
